Migration from BigQuery to Databricks

Consolidate BigQuery, AWS and connected business applications on a Databricks platform, moving from ETL to ELT.

My contribution

Created the full migration plan, owned every stage and contributed directly with dbt, PySpark, SQL, deployment and resource configuration.

Result

Migrated to Databricks, introduced dbt and ELT, and moved tracking to Snowplow.

Syncing HubSpot data with its history

Make HubSpot data, including its history, available for analysis through asynchronous, parallel and fault-tolerant processing.

My contribution

Designed the technical approach and wrote around 80% of the Python implementation. Distributed workloads through message queues and coupled their completion markers to the transaction commit.

Connect signs of unusual product usage with proactive customer support, product improvements and coordinated communication.

My contribution

Led the joint initiative across BI, Customer Success, Marketing and Tech. Coached the ML Engineer and reviewed the modelling work; the ML Engineer implemented the machine learning.

Result

Reduced the churn rate by 40% relative to the previous year.
